BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

1.               The gites at the above address are offered for holiday rental subject to written confirmation from the Owners. Formal confirmation of the booking will be sent to the Client together with a statement showing the outstanding balance, on receipt of a completed Booking Form and a non-refundable deposit of £100  per week booked.

 

2.               The balance of the rental, plus a Security/cleaning Deposit of £100, is payable not less than 8 weeks before the start of the rental period. The Client is advised that at least ten days should be allowed for the post to arrive in France from England.  If payment is not received by the due date, the Owners reserve the right to consider the booking cancelled but will try to contact the Client by phone or email before cancelling.  In the event of cancellation, the Owners will try to re-let the property, but the Client will remain liable to pay the balance of the rent. If the property is re-let, the Owners will refund any payment already made by the Client other than the non-refundable £100 deposit and any expenses such as advertising involved in the re-letting. Reservations made within eight weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking. 

 

3.               Dishonoured cheques automatically cancel the reservation.  The Owners will advise the Client if this happens and the Client will be liable for all losses and expenses incurred by the Owners.

 

4.               Cheques will only be accepted in the name of the Client whose name appears on the Booking Form.  This is to avoid confusion.  All cheques should be made payable to Mrs. C. Barnes   

 

5.               A Security/Cleaning Deposit of £100 is required for each rental period,  in case of possible damage to the property or its contents.  However, this sum will not limit the Client’s liability to the Owners.  The Owners will account to the Client for the Security/cleaning Deposit and will refund any balance due within four weeks of the end of the rental period by cheque drawn on the Owners’ bank account.

 

6.               The rental period will commence at 4.00 pm on the first day and finish at 10.00 am on the last day.  The Client should not expect to arrive before the time stated, or to remain in the property after the time stated unless previously arranged with us. The Client is advised to book  ferries, flights, etc at the same time as booking the property. 

 

7.              The maximum number of people to reside in the property for the rental period must not exceed that stated on the Booking Form, unless the Owners have given written permission.  Regretfully, no pets of any kind can be accepted.

 

8.               The Client and party agree to be considerate and reasonable tenants and to take good care of the property and its contents and not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to neighbours or fellow holiday makers.

 

9.               The Client accepts the terms of the Swimming Pool Disclaimer which are:-  The Client confirms

a.      That his/her party will abide by the safety measures and recommendations of the Owners (overleaf);

b.     That he/she releases the Owners from all responsibility concerning safety;

c.      That he/she will use the pool as a responsible adult and respect the advice given by the Owners;

d.      That he/she will maintain strict supervision over all members of his/her group/family, particularly young children.

 

10.           Any defects or breakdowns or failure of equipment should be reported to the Owners without delay.  The Owners will repair or replace any such defects as soon as possible.

 

11.            The Client confirms that he/she releases the Owners from all responsibility concerning safety and will maintain strict supervision over all members of his/her group, particularly young children, with regard to the playroom and its equipment and outside play equipment.

 

12.            The Owners shall not be liable to the Client for (1) any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property or in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property or gardens,  (2) any loss or damage due to adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or any other matter beyond the control of the Owners, including an inability to top-up the swimming pool because of water restrictions, or (3) the Client’s motor vehicle or its contents.

 

13.            If the property should suffer substantial damage or be destroyed before the start of the rental period, the Owners will not be liable to the Client for any loss, damage or inconvenience suffered by the Client but will advise the Client as soon as possible and refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.

 

14.            The Client is strongly advised to arrange comprehensive travel insurance, including cancellation cover, and to cover the party’s personal belongings, public liability, etc.

 

15.            Under no circumstances shall the Owners’ liability to the Client exceed the amount paid to the Owner for the rental period.

 

16.            This contract shall be governed by English Law in every particular including formation and interception and shall be deemed to have been made in England.  Please note that these conditions will be included with our booking confirmation.

 

SWIMMING POOL

 

Safety Measures & Recommendations

 

·       Do not take any electrical equipment into the pool area

 

·       Do not leave toys or any other objects in the pool that might attract children

 

·       Wait a reasonable time (about 2 hours) after a meal before swimming

 

·       Do not run or be too noisy in the pool area

 

·       Reckless diving and jumping into the pool are forbidden

 

·       Please be aware that it is more difficult to supervise children when there are several people in the pool at the same time and there is also more danger of a collision

 

·       Please ensure that those under your control treat other guests using the pool with consideration so that all may enjoy the experience

 

·       Baby swim nappies are available at Intermarche and Le Clerc  and we would appreciate their use on youngsters. If you arrive without them, we have some available at cost.

 

Hygiene

 

§       Always shower before swimming - deodorants, sweat and suntan creams can all affect the chemicals in the pool causing rashes, conjunctivitis and sore throats.

 

§       Watch out for any open wounds that could be infectious

 

§       Do not take any drink into the pool area except in plastic mugs

 

§       No animals are allowed in the pool area

 

§       No smoking in the pool area
